GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The individual in this role is accountable for planning, supervising and coordinating all patient care activities and daily clinical operations in order to maintain a safe, efficient, financially responsible environment and to provide the highest level of quality patient care. This individual manages hiring, staffing, disciplinary action, development and employment decisions related to clinic staff. The Clinic Manager executes and monitors the daily clinical operations, labor and supply utilization, and regulatory functions of the programs consistent with the State, Federal, JCAHO and/or other accreditation agencies, and Company policies, procedures and guidelines. This individual provides and ensures safe, effective, and compassionate care within his/her scope of practice.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages infusion patient care in one or more infusion center locations.

• Ensures patient care activities in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.

• Executes protocols and quality initiatives to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience of care.

• Provides clinical management, effective communication, and leadership in the execution and direction of quality services to patients, staff and medical staff. Develops and maintains effective communication and working relationships with external community partners and resources, staff, co-workers, physicians, and patients.

• Manages labor costs and supply utilization.

• Leads, coordinates, supervises, monitors, delegates and documents all aspects of patient care activities.

• Collaborates with all disciplines, utilizing internal and external resources to provide optimal patient care.

• Provides continued training, growth, and development opportunities for both direct and indirect reports.

• Evaluates and develops processes, policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards, and JCAHO and/or other accreditation agency standards.

• Manages and monitors the delivery of services to patients ensuring compliance in the performance of all aspects of patient care in accordance with Company policies and procedures, accreditation agencies, and State and Federal guidelines.

• Oversees and directs all patient care staff to ensure adequate visual monitoring of patients by nursing and patient care staff during treatment. Ensures delivery of safe and efficient quality care.

• Manages all nursing and Advanced Practice Provider staff to ensure safe and efficient quality care.

• Manages patient and staff schedules to ensure optimal staff-to-patient ratios in accordance with clinical census, operational goals and regulations set forth by State and Federal agencies.

• Supports, understands and implements the , Mission and Vision of the Company; promotes Company Culture.

• Oversees/serves as member of the Quality Committee and infusion center Governing Body in conjunction with Medical Director.

• Acts as the Infection Control Manager of the infusion centers’ infection control surveillance activities.

• Manages implementation of quality assessment and improvement activities making recommendations based upon clinical and patient outcomes.

• Demonstrates competent knowledge of JCAHO and/or other accreditation agency requirements, State and Federal regulations and infusion center clinical, administrative, financial and quality policies and procedures.

• Manages and directs all clinic patient care staff, licensed and unlicensed, (e.g., hiring, termination, evaluations, disciplinary process and reporting) within Company guidelines. Provides clinical leadership, training/delegation of training of new employees and ongoing education and training of all clinical staff.

• Leads, manages, and drives for results in the support and attainment of the Company’s goals and objectives.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages and ensures appropriate documentation of nursing and Advanced Practice Provider processes, Assessments and Plans of Care, admission and monthly documentation is complete, and patients’ medical records are maintained in accordance with Company policy and regulatory agency requirements.

• Schedules center audits including Quality, medical records, fire & safety, and emergency preparedness. Delegates to appropriate personnel as needed.

• Implement patient and staff satisfaction surveys and reports results to Quality Committee.

• Completes reporting in a timely manner, including but not limited to, payroll, census, drug inventory log, and quality.

• Reviews and approves clinic invoices, direct report expense reports; performs and/or oversees the completion of all required month-end reporting.

• Reviews billing and inventory reports daily to ensure all utilized drug is billed appropriately.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of progressive healthcare management experience required.

• Current and unencumbered State Nursing/ Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) License. Must be an RN.

• Bachelor’s degree required (nursing, business or health-related field).

• Prefer candidates that possess prior experience managing or supervising direct reports and business operations in a multi-clinic setting.

• Must have demonstrated record of and commitment to safety; dedicated to clinical and customer service excellence.

• Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members, patients and physicians.

• Demonstrated ability reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Proficient knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office and software, and database experience.

• Must be willing to travel between facilities and to other meetings, as needed. Required travel is approximately 20-25%, or higher if managing multiple infusion centers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts (infusion equipment and machinery). The employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color differentiation, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk and talk, hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. He/she is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl.
