OverviewRegistered Nurse - CVICUThe CVICU consists of 6 beds with 2 of those beds located in the bay area for rapid recovery. Recent unit accomplishments include successful transition of CVSD staff to CVICU as well as staff certification in CCRN and CSC. In the CVICU the team cares for critically ill adult patients that may include but not limited to trauma, stroke, neurological, medical cardiac and/or pulmonary conditions that need intensive care and more frequent monitoring. This may also include L&D patients that need more intensive care related to medical condition. Their focus is on the care and recovery of post cardiothoracic patients and what makes this unit unique is their modified universal model.
