Join VivaSalud as a PRN/Per-Diem Medical Assistant/Front Office to a Nurse Practitioner (NP) operated Family Practice. Our NP has 2 years of experience as a Primary Care provider and over 10 years of experience in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors
  • Perform routine administrative duties for the provider(s)
  • Receive patients in a timeline manner
  • Take patient vital signs, such as blood pressure and weight
  • Prepare patients for examination by taking a history and recording symptoms
  • Assist providers during examination and treatment
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by the healthcare professional
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records
  • Perform laboratory procedures (draw bloodwork, collect samples, etc.) and diagnostic testing (EKG)
  • Clean and sterilize equipment
  • Answer telephones and direct calls as necessary
  • Assist with billing and coding as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Availability in month of December (clinic is closed only on Christmas and New Years)

Recommended Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a medical office or clinic setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems (athenahealth experience preferred)
  • CPR certification

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
