Description

Analytical Research and Development (ARD) Scientists are responsible for design and development of analytical methods to characterize ALTA™ products and in-process materials. AR&D Scientist must adapt and routinely apply chromatographic, spectroscopic, and biological methods to the ALTA™ products that involve dilute antigens and insoluble ALD coatings. This role reports to the Head of Product Development and could be asked to lead a product development team. Scientists are expected to work independently and use their judgement to design studies that address project team and functional area goals.
This is a full-time position, located in Boulder Colorado.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • In-house resource for Analytical Method development.
  • Designs, authors, and executes protocols to develop and qualify analytical methods.
  • Independently research and design study plans and authors reports.
  • Conducts investigations of ALTA™ manufacturing processes.
  • Maintains equipment and ensures that methods and equipment are fit-for-purpose.
  • Performs Quality Control testing to support product release and stability testing.
  • Works closely with Formulation Development and Quality Assurance to establish specifications.
  • Contributes toward portions of IND or BLA eCTD module 2 and 3.
  • Helps train Product Research and Development staff to address project needs.
  • Works effectively and dynamically in cross-functional teams to complete partner projects
  • Adheres to Company policies and safety guidelines
Education and Experience
  • Must be able to perform the responsibilities and duties listed above.
  • A PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or dissertation research characterizing biological materials, or Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years industry experience.
  • Strong analytical training including advanced characterization of complex proteins, lipids, or nucleic acids using chromatographic and spectroscopic tools is required.
  • Experience with ELISAs, particle characterization, CE, ELSD, and lyophilization preferred.
  • Must be familiar with ICH Q8, Q9, Q10 and understand Quality by Design expectations
  • Proficient in the use of statistical analysis methods and standard office tools like Excel.

Salary and Benefits
The position may be filled at the Scientist or RAII level. The level will be determined by the applicant’s experience and alignment with current and future responsibilities.

  • Scientist:
    PhD in an academic program aligned with VitriVax needs – range $100,000 to $120,000 p/a

  • RAII: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years industry experience – range $70,000 to $95,000 p/a
