See all opportunities at VitriVax, Inc: HERE Research Associates (RAs) in Product Research & Development (PRD) work closely with Analytical and Formulation Scientists to formulate and characterize ALTA™ products and processes. This RA position will support formulation development and/or perform analytical tests and biophysical characterizations of API’s using chromatographic, spectroscopic, and/or biological methods. This role reports to the Head of Product Research & Development and will work under the direction of more senior scientists for daily tasks. This is a full-time position, located in Boulder Colorado.

Description

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintains laboratory notebook and equipment logs consistent with policies.
  • Follows established procedures and documents research activities.
  • Executes established analytical methods and reports results timely.
  • Works closely with Analytical scientists to support development of new methods
  • Supports Formulation scientists to enable screening of formulations which promote API stability, spray drying and ALD coating requirements.
  • Clearly communicates and collaborates within PR&D and across departments to investigate processes and products.
  • Maintains equipment and ensures that methods and equipment are fit-for-purpose.
  • Searches published literature to identify promising technologies and solve problems
  • Adheres to Company policies and safety guidelines

Education and Experience

  • Individuals must have the academic background and capability to perform the responsibilities and duties listed above and be willing to learn.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline is preferred.
  • Training in analytical chemistry, specifically chromatographic methods, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of bioanalytical methods (ELISAs, Electrophoresis, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel for data analysis and use of Word for authoring documents.
  • Fundamental knowledge of statistical analysis techniques is preferred.

Salary and Benefits

The position may be filled at the RAI or RAII level.
As written, the job description is targeting an RA1.
The level will be determined by the applicant’s experience and alignment with current and future responsibilities.
  • Research Associate I (RAI): Entry level with Bachelor’s degree range $60K - $75K p/a
  • Research Associate II(RAII): BS/BA with 2 years' experience range $75K - $100K p/a
