Position: Transportation Manager Start Time: TBD

Employment Type: Exempt - Full Time Compensation: Dependent upon experience

Vitco Food Service is currently looking for a Transportation Manager to join its team. The Transportation Manager position a focused and result driven position. Integrity, dignity, respect, and open honest communication between Owners, Management, Team Members and Customers is paramount for the success of this position. The successful candidate will have exceptional

oral communication skills and must exhibit a high level of initiative and professionalism. In addition, the individual will demonstrate decision making skills, attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently and with the ability to develop strong relationships with customers, company personnel and vendors. The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and

strong organizational and time management skills are required, in addition to working knowledge of MS Office software.

· Manages day to day activities and safety of drivers in a concise and systematic manner

· Manages drivers and Company compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, CHP, OSHA, etc.) and ensures that logs are kept current and accurate.

· Manages and ensures the Transportation Department goals are being met utilizing the Company software system (Target and Telgois)

· Manages labor hours, travel, fuel and supplies within the budget, maximizing time and cost efficiencies

· Prepares weekly work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed

· Is available 24-hours a day to deal with problems that arise in person or by cell phone.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

· Minimum 5 or more years of transportation industry management experience required with proven knowledge of DOT and OSHA policies and practices

· Class A CDL preferred

· Ability to communicate professionally

· Fluency in English required; verbal and written

· General fluency in Spanish preferred, but not require

· Self-driven and resourceful with the ability to solve problems outside area of expertise

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and accuracy as well as attention to detail without compromising quality

· Knowledge of warehouse operations

· Ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations

· PC Skills: Outlook, Word, Excel

· College degree preferred

· Uncompromising integrity

Required experience:

· Transportation Management: 5 years

· Food Industry: 5 years

· Warehouse Operations: 5 years
