Job Description:
Vital DiagnosTech is seeking a compassionate and skilled ICU Nurse position in Jackson, Wyoming. As an ICU Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful location surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of Jackson Hole while making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families. Shift is 3x12's overnights (shift differential: $5/hr nights and $2/hr weekends). $10,000 sign-on bonus, $2,000 relocation stipend, AND $1,350/month for temporary housing!!! Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), including monitoring vital signs, assessing patient status, and implementing appropriate interventions.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as prescribed by physicians, monitoring patient responses and adjusting treatments as needed.
  • Perform advanced nursing procedures such as arterial line insertions, central line placements, and ventilator management, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social workers to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide life-saving interventions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, and rapid sequence intubation as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing emotional support, education, and counseling on critical care procedures, treatment options, and prognosis.
  • Document all patient care activities accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care delivery.
  • Maintain proficiency in advanced nursing skills and stay current with developments in critical care nursing practice through continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence in patient care.

Requirements:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of Wyoming or compact state reciprocity.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working as an ICU Nurse in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Additional certifications such as Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make rapid and accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and priorities.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered care with a focus on safety, compassion, and excellence.
  • Willingness to relocate to Jackson, Wyoming, and work varied shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
