Description

Our Lewiston location is looking for a part time Security Guard to provide basic plant security to protect employees, facilities, and plant assets.

• Must be able to work any shift, including weekend swing shift : Saturday and Sunday from 5 : 00pm to 5 : 00am
• Make foot and / or vehicle-assisted rounds. Perform fire watch during rounds.
• Watch for theft. Look for vandals and vandalism.
• Check for illegal entry. Logs all activity in daily logbook, such as items that are not routine.
• Follow Standard Works for Security Guard.
• Report leaking pipes. Report mechanical faults of machinery and equipment.
• Check doors and windows that are supposed to be closed and locked. Check gates to ensure they are closed and / or locked if appropriate.
• Investigate vehicle / traffic accidents.
• Check badges of employees accessing plant. Conduct random searches of vehicles and employees entering and exiting the plant.
• Make periodic patrol of parking lots, either on foot or by driving vehicle. Issue parking violations and watch for suspicious activity.
• Assist in handling workplace violence scenarios. Escort employees and others off plant with plant leadership or law enforcement.
• Use fire extinguisher to put out small, incipient-type fires.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school or GED equivalent.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Must possess basic mathematics skills.
• Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
• Must be trained in threat response within 90 days of employment.
• Must be certified in First Aid / CPR within 6 months of hire.
• Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision.
• Must have valid driver’s license without restrictions.
