We are seeking an experienced Retention Marketing Specialist to join our Outdoor Performance platform team. The Outdoor Performance strategic priorities are to be consumer-first focused, lead with power brands, and invest inwards.

We will build the Outdoor Performance business by creating focus and power with the consumer. Our marketing structure delivers the necessary brand dedication and functional expertise to achieve our objectives.

In the dynamic field of digital marketing, the role of a Retention Marketing Specialist is essential, especially when it comes to leveraging the power of email marketing.

As the spearhead for growth tactics within the assigned business units' email channel, this position demands a deep understanding of email campaign dynamics, creative briefing, and the nuanced analysis of key metrics and analytics.

The essence of this role is not just in executing strategies but in continuously evolving them by incorporating email best practices, showcasing creative examples, and pinpointing opportunities that drive both brand equity and revenue through the email channel.

The Retention Marketing Specialist is expected to be the subject matter expert on critical components of the ecommerce tech stack, particularly Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

This expertise is not limited to understanding email channel performance and its contribution to sales but extends to the broader spectrum of ecommerce management, including the creation and reporting of promotions.

This comprehensive knowledge base ensures that email marketing efforts are not isolated but are integrated and optimized within the broader ecommerce strategy.

Collaboration forms the backbone of this role. Working closely with the Retention Marketing Manager and Digital Marketing Manager, the Retention Marketing Specialist plays a crucial part in implementing the business unit's email program in alignment with the brand and sales objectives.

This includes contributing to the development of seasonal calendars and launching cross-channel campaigns that harmonize with the overarching marketing strategy.

The goal is clear : to enhance customer retention and contribute significantly to the business unit's growth by making strategic, data-backed decisions that elevate the email channel's performance.

This position reports to the Retention Marketing Manager of Outdoor Performance and is based out of our Bozeman office.

As the Retention Marketing Specialist, you will have an opportunity to :

  • Drive the key elements and growth of the email & SMS marketing programs, including strategy execution, testing, scheduling, and reporting on channel performance.
  • Collaborate with the marketing, design and ecommerce teams to write creative briefs, review, and send all email campaigns within respective brands.
  • Launch growth tactics and campaign per strategy that drives lifetime value, repeat purchase, and new customer growth through digital campaign touch points.
  • Establish digital journeys that drive lead conversion and repeat purchase through timely and relevant automated communications.
  • Build, test and launch DTC promotions per promotional calendar.
  • Utilize key customer segments to drive personalized messaging, product recommendations, and timely communication.
  • Own and communicate all email channel metrics, including open rate, CTR, engagement by content type, and revenue contribution.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Managers on product launches, seasonal collections, and key campaigns to launch best-in-class, industry-leading digital campaigns.

You have :

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related area of study.
  • Strong preference for candidates with Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Understanding of marketing funnels and how they drive strategy.
  • Self-starter with natural curiosity to seek out solutions.
  • Ability to work with a fast-moving and always-learning team.
  • Understand the big picture on ecommerce contribution to the brand.
