Vista Outdoor is Hiring a Remote Centerfire Metal Parts Formax Assistant Setup - CCI/Speer

Job Description The Position Our Lewiston, ID location is seeking Assistant Set-Up Workers to add to our team. A good candidate has strong mechanical skills and is skilled at troubleshooting issues. Starting wage is $28.07/hour shift differential. Pay increase at 90 days, 6 months and 1 year. Must be available to work Day, Swing, Weekend Days and/or Weekend Swing shifts. Regular shift will be Weekend Swing once training is complete. Upon successfully completing the training program the wage increases to $32.86 - $34.75 Responsibilities: Checks machines to ensure operators have tooling and sufficient parts to begin the operation. Retrieves necessary supplies. Performs mechanical set-up of all processes and machinery within the department (aluminum and brass products). Informs Technical Coordinator and/or Supervisor of impending problems and/or non-routine situations. Changes tooling on machines when changing from one product to another. Responds to operator and machinery problems on a priority basis and monitors all department processes to ensure maximum efficiency and quality. Enters into Win SPC any changes made to machinery or processes per Q.I. which affect Statistical Process Control (SPC), and uses SPC data as a diagnostic tool when trouble- shooting mechanical problems. Performs all maintenance on machinery as needed, performs diagnostic troubleshooting before requesting Machine Shop assistance. Performs preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis. Maintains all records that are necessary for scrap reporting, machine maintenance (logbooks), DSCs, and product accountability. Weighs wire scrap, brass, and aluminum cases, moves to scrap storage container and then to Shipping when full. Polishes punches and dies as needed. Assists Engineers and /or Machinists with special projects (work orders, prototypes, etc.) Assists with overall department maintenance. Operates all processes and machinery within the department as needed. Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and have basic math skills in order to recognize improbable results and basic math calculations. Candidates will be required to pass a hands-on mechanical test and math skills test prior to hiring. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a mechanical background and the ability to learn department machinery and processes and operate all machines in the department. Must be able to learn and use SPC as a diagnostic tool within 30 days. Must be able to learn to use a computer and precision measuring devices within 30 days. Must be able to drive a forklift safely within 30 days. Must be able to learn to read and understand blueprints within 90 days. Must have a good safety record. Must be able to work independently without continual supervision. Must complete a training program and have successfully pass the set-up test in no less than 6 months and no longer than 12 months.
