Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities. Duties:
- Assist in planning and organizing recreational activities for residents, including games, crafts, outings, and social events
- Lead group activities and encourage resident participation
- Provide one-on-one support to residents who may require additional assistance
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating activity calendars
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a well-rounded activity program
- Help residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents during activities
- Document resident participation and progress
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or caregiving is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of memory care and dementia care techniques is a plus
- Must be compassionate, patient, and understanding towards seniors
