Job Details

Job Location: VNA of Wabash Valley Inc - Terre Haute, IN
Salary Range: Undisclosed

Description

1. Responsible for administration and management of agency operations.
A. Directs all programs through delegation of authority to administrative and management staff.
B. Assures the development of sound administrative policies and management activities to include budget, quality control, cost analysis and financial reports.
C. Develops and maintains an effective organizational structure.
D. Oversees negotiation of all contracts and agreements for provision of services.
E. Investigates current and proposed legislation that may affect present and future agency programs.
F. Represents or arranges for representation of the agency in national, state, and local matters related to home care/hospice.
G. Participates in governmental and other survey processes and interacts with surveyors.
2. Plans for the development of new programs or expansion of service based on community needs to ensure the long term viability of the agency.
A. Works with the Clinical Director and HR Director to ensure appropriate staffing to meet patient needs.
B. Oversees agency efforts to provide state of the art care to those served, monitor the care delivered, and report quality outcomes as necessary and/or mandated.
3. Prepares reports and makes recommendations to VNA, Inc.’s Board of Directors.
A. Ex officio member of all Board Committees. Oversees preparation and presentation of monthly report to Board of Directors.
B. Works appropriately with Management Team to develop the Strategic Plan. Implements plan and reports progress as stipulated.
C. Works appropriately with Business Development Department and Board Committees to develop and to ensure implementation of the public relations and fundraising strategy for the corporation.
4. Ensures the operation and effective management of Human Resources.
A. Works with Human Resources Director, Human Resource Committee, and other management staff to develop personnel policies and procedures.
B. Responsible for assuring that education is provided to management staff to improve techniques of management.
5. Assures representation of the agency in matters of litigation and third party payer investigations.
6. Works with the Business Development Director to represent the agency in the community and participates actively in fundraising on behalf of the corporation.
7. Complies with agency policy and procedures, specifically including fraud and abuse reporting mechanisms.
8. Works with the Regulatory Director to support the Corporate Compliance Program by adhering to the Principles and Standards stated in the Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
9. Oversees VNA, Inc. compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, and licensing agency rules and regulations, including but not limited to, Indiana State Department of Health and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
10. Assures that all physical properties of VNA are kept in a good state of repair and operating condition.
11. Assists the Finance Director in the oversight of all business affairs, such as the records of financial transactions, collection of accounts, and purchase and issuance of supplies to ensure that all funds are collected and expended to the best advantage of VNA.
12. Is knowledgeable regarding agency policy, procedures, and general information.
A. Attends selected workshops, staff meetings, and seminars to enhance job performance & knowledge of services.
B. Reports to work at the scheduled time and uses time efficiently.
C. Willingly performs other duties outside of job responsibilities as may be required. 

Qualifications


1. Bachelor’s degree in related field, advanced degree preferred. Would consider experience in lieu of education if necessary.
2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare management, preferably in home health or hospice setting
3. Knowledge of industry and markets in the community; ability to build relationships to promote growth and build collaborative relationships.
4. Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively, sensitively, and compassionately, as well as gain trust, credibility, loyalty, and respect with all stakeholders.
5. Ability to build trusting, collaborative and effective relationships with key stakeholders and effectively represent VNA, Inc. in all settings.
6. Transparent, visible, highly engaged leader with the ability to inspire, challenge, and motivate to achieve common goals.
7. Must meet the requirements for employment, including but not limited to, possession of a valid driver’s license, insurance, successful completion of a criminal background report, and post offer physical exam and drug screen.
