Medical Assistant front office – Visit Health Urgent Care, Van Nuys

Our Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Medical Assistant at our urgent care facility, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient experiences and ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations.

Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant at our Urgent Care Center, you will be the first point of contact for patients seeking medical attention. Your friendly demeanor, efficiency, and professionalism will contribute significantly to the overall patient experience. You will manage front desk duties, schedule appointments, verify patient information, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive timely and quality care. Preferably experienced and knowledge of back-office duties in an urgent care setting or similar facility for purpose of cross training.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome patients with a friendly and caring attitude as they arrive at the urgent care center.
• Accurately and efficiently register patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and update electronic health records (EHR).
• Handle incoming phone calls and inquiries professionally, directing calls to appropriate staff members as needed.
• Work closely with medical staff to coordinate patient flow, ensuring minimal wait times and smooth transitions between procedures.
• Verify insurance coverage and process billing information, maintaining strict adherence to healthcare regulations and patient privacy laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the reception area, waiting room, and front desk.
• Assist with general administrative tasks, such as managing paperwork, filing, and handling mail.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist in an urgent care setting or a related medical facility.
• MA certification preferred but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
