Technical Business Analyst

Summary

Technical Business Analysts at VisiQuate are the backbone of providing white glove, consultative solutions to our clients. They are friendly, analytical, and professional and provide the highest level of customer experience on every interaction. We are looking for Technical Business Analysts that will help VisiQuate and our clients embrace data driven decision making.The ideal candidate for this position must have deep knowledge of core Enterprise Data Warehousing concepts and models, BI concepts, strong SQL querying, project management and analytical skills. This team member will work closely with the engineering teams as well as the business community. They will have exceptional communication skills, effective with both technical and business-oriented staff.

Key Responsibilities

Provides business analysis leadership for projects:

o Prepare and deliver data governance presentations to business leaders

o Facilitate data governance discussions with business leaders and data stewards

o Acts as a liaison between the business customers and technical resources on projects

o Work with clients to understand requirements and requests and convert these into formal design or concept documents

o Work with business stewards to define data quality business rules

o Work with business stewards to create and maintain business glossary

o Work with source system owners to profile and remediate data quality issues

• Provide world-class service to clients resulting in increased overall customer satisfaction and client retention.
• Work closely with teams across the organization – Analytics, Design, Product, Engineering, and Marketing
• Design and develop state-of-the-art, data-driven exploratory analysis to solve business problems across the healthcare services industry (predictive and decision modeling experience preferred but not required). 
• Build and evaluate data driven solutions to be deployed in production systems for operational reporting and data mining. This includes the analysis of large amounts of historical data, determining suitability for modeling, data clean-up and filtering, pattern identification and variable creation, selection of sampling criteria and performance definition, and variable selection, and experiments with different types of algorithms and models, analyzing performance, to identify the best algorithms to employ.
• Communicates problems / issues that may arise and assists in determining solution feasibility and alternatives to the project manager or manager.

Client Communications (internal and external):

• Responsible for daily client communication
• Develop appropriate reporting templates for client communication.
• Travel as required to client sites.
• Create, review, and deliver formal presentations of work to clients.
• Participate in authoring and scoping new client statements of work. 

Skills & Education

BS degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science or Management-related with 5 years’ experience.

• 5 years of experience creating analytics solutions for users including data modeling, wrangling and visualization creation.
• 3 years of experience in healthcare or a related industry (waivable depending on your level of alignment with the rest of the job description)
• Deep experience with enterprise-grade Analytics products like MicroStrategy, Tableau, QlikView, or equivalents
• Demonstrated experience working with advanced analytics use cases leveraging statistics, data science or other kinds of math or logic-driven disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience performing data wrangling and preparing/cleaning data in preparation for analysis.
• Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and other data science languages like Python, R, MATLAB, etc. 
• A high-energy, expert communicator with both technical and non-technical team members, brimming with positive, proactive energy.
• A data-driven decision maker who combines sound business judgment with strong analytical thinking.
• Understanding of technical aspects related to software development and current web technologies.
• Able to prioritize tasks for yourself and others, remaining productive while balancing multiple projects.
• Ability to think strategically with the capacity to expand client use cases into platform-wide requirements.
• Experience in Atlassian Jira, Confluence, project management software or similar products
• Experience managing projects for clients external to the organization is highly desired
• Understanding of machine learning technologies and principles
