Vision Plastics is Hiring a Machine Operator Lead Trainee - Swing Shift Near Wilsonville, OR

***$20.00 to $22.00 per hour***

Vision Plastics, Inc, the Northwest leader in custom injection molding, is hiring for a Machine Operator Lead Trainee for swing shift! POSITION

Operate injection molding machine to produce quality molded parts. Assist Supervisor in the operation of the shift.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Perform all functions of a Machine Operator 3. Including, but not limited to: machine operation at consistent cycle times, reading/following written work instructions, trimming parts per customer specifications, and applicable paperwork. Is trained and qualified to run the majority of all jobs, including advanced core and insert jobs. Obtain training certifications on specified jobs.
  2. Make suggestions to improve operating procedures. Make approved changes to operating procedures and add visual aids, as needed.
  3. Coordinate breaks and lunch schedules when necessary.
  4. Run new jobs and help set-up operating procedures.
  5. Fill out procedures, cause and effects, and pallet tags accurately and completely.
  6. Move all pallets to designated areas.
  7. Make labels through IQ. Verify both computer data and operator data on labels are accurate and filled out completely. Verify label compatibility from shift to shift.
  8. Assign work to employees by priority and skill levels.
  9. Communicate any problems with jobs/presses to Leads on next shift using the tie in sheet. Let oncoming leads know if any presses are expected to finish. Assure all presses not currently running are set up and ready to run for the next shift.
  10. Assist with quality checks on green sticker rounds.
  11. Assist in training of new employees.
  12. Meet with operators to ensure they understand and follow work instructions. Assist employees with any questions or concerns regarding work instructions.
  13. Train existing personnel to improve their job knowledge, production quality and output. Motivate other employees.
  14. Direct shift in absence of supervisor. Fill out production report and notes in absence of Supervisor.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

  1. Keep area clean and neat for next shift.
  2. Assist others when assigned duties are completed.
  3. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Must be able to read, understand and verbally communicate work instructions.
  2. Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  3. Must be able to manually cycle machine by opening and closing gate.
  4. Must be able lift, reach and pull 10 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
  5. Must be able to stand for long (at least 8) hours.
  6. Must have basic reading, writing, math, communication and problem solving skills.
  7. Basic computer and keyboarding skills preferred.
  8. Must have advanced plastics vocabulary and working knowledge of quality standards is required.
  9. Must have good leadership skills and be able to effectively train and assist other employees.
  10. Must be able to communicate effectively with all staff and co-workers.

*This is a working lead position, meaning this role will be working in production as well.*
