EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
PROMOTOR COMUNITARIO

Title: Promotor Comunitario
Starting Wage: $20 per hour
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Location: Remote and different worksites in Fresno County
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Status: Regular, Part Time (400 hours per year)
Effective Date: March 2024 ending on or before June 30, 2025

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Promotor Comunitario will conduct outreach and educational
groups in Fresno County utilizing the Family Friends and Neighbors curriculum. The Promotor Comunitario is responsible for
completing the required programmatic reporting in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and secures potential sites and groups to conduct outreach and project activities in Fresno County.
  • Facilitates listening sessions with local Promotores and FFNs in Fresno County to share information and to inform the
training sessions.
  • Facilitate 2 Groups/ 48 hours each and 2 Parent classes of 8 hours each, of the FFN curriculum provided by Vision y
Compromiso.
  • Maintain consistent and constant communication with the Project Coordinator regarding all program components and
attends scheduled meetings with the program team.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and files on all outreach and education conducted, including any documentation
regarding the requirements for eligibility and compliance with services.
  • Facilitates FFN local support groups to provide time to practice new skills, discuss challenges, share lessons learned,
and get feedback.
  • Maintain consistent and constant communication with the Project Coordinator regarding all activities assigned.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings with the project team, as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION

There is no minimum educational requirement.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working with monolingual and/or bilingual Latino communities
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience conducting outreach and providing community health education.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

Valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize a reliable alternative method of transportation when needed to
carry out job-related essential functions. Valid automobile liability insurance.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals, groups, and the public. Due to the
population served, the ability to do so in Spanish and/or English is required. Proficiency in leading and facilitating engaging
discussions and educational presentations for both small and large groups.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient computer skills for the purpose of data entry during enrollment events, sending and receiving email, calendar
scheduling, and virtual meeting attendance.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel locally within the assigned region as required.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience conducting successful outreach in diverse settings.
  • Experience facilitating support groups and leading empathetic discussions.
  • Experience in providing educational activities to adults.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Availability to work the required hours as required.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including shifts on weekends and evenings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform

The employee will sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers up to 15% of the time. The employee will be traveling/driving up
to 15% of the time. The employee will stand 40% and walk up to 30% of the time. The employee is routinely required to
carry and/or lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally 20 pounds.

Work environment varies with the locations at which educational activities are conducted. Brief exposure to the elements
