Key Role Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight to Regional Directors guiding excellence in Virtus Health Policies, Procedures and Practices as well as compliance with BACB guidelines.
  • Lead company-wide clinical management and training initiatives directly and through team members ensuring BCBAs and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are skilled to successfully and safely carrying out their positions.
  • Conduct care audits directly and through subordinates (Regional BCBAs and Lead BCBAs) to ensure care goals and clinical standards are achieved.
  • Lead corporate clinical standards for BCBAs in providing and maintaining documentation of supervision of RBTs and students in ABA programs, according to the BACB guidelines.
  • Lead utilization of Virtus Health’s electronic programming and data collection system (ACE), conducting ongoing analysis of clinical quality and progress ensuring clinical outcomes for the clients served.
  • Lead BCBA BIP reviews including direct approval of treatment / care plans for complex client treatment plans. All level III plans are to be directly approved by the Vice President of Clinical Services. BIP reviews ensure both the quality of care and that the requirements of funders are met at all times.
  • Assist with insurance reviews, audits, or peer review calls/meetings, as needed.
  • Oversee the tracking and submission of Treatment and BIPs company-wide according to deadlines set forth by Virtus Health in Coordination with the Billing and Authorizations Department.
  • Provide high level guidance and oversight of Virtus Health peer review procedures when needed, participating as part of the designated review committee(s), ongoing.
  • Obtain and evaluate incident reports from centers with the Regional Team communicating with BCBAs and elevating communication when needed to supervisor.
  • Lead Virtus Health’s performance review for all BCBAs.
  • Monitor BCBA/center schedules and ensure utilization of billable hours, working to find solutions to maximize utilization in each center.
  • Conduct center safety and compliance checks at least on a quarterly basis.
  • Lead and manage personnel relationships, building team dynamics, insuring team member retention.
  • Develop and lead career path plans for Regional Directors, Lead BCBAs, and BCBAs including training and development support.
  • Work closely with Virtus leadership to ensure communication, collaboration, and connectivity.
  • Provide reporting and analytics supporting clinical KPIs and metrics. Provide recommendations for changes and alterations to processes based on data.
  • Manages and maintains clinical budget.
  • As an Executive, must help create overall organizational leadership and cultural direction.
  • Other duties or tasks which may be required as assigned.

Requirements

  • Passionate about working with children, with a sincere desire to make a difference in a child’s life every day.
  • 10 years of clinical leadership experience required with 5 years minimum experience working as a BCBA. Prior clinical leadership experience in both center-based and school-based care models preferred. Must hold current BCBA certification credentials.
  • Outstanding people management and leadership skills, able to inspire others to carry out Virtus Health’s care model, and assist team members and leaders to reach goals, objectives, and personal career goals through coaching, mentoring, teaching, and solving challenges as they arise.
  • Write and train others to create high level BIPs and demonstrate a sound understanding of care and delivery including ensuring funder / insurance requirements.
  • Strong business experience and background, able to understand and effectively collaborate with operations, HR, finance, and other departments.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills on an individual and group presentation basis.
  • Proficient computer skills, easily adopting and learning innovative technology, including its application to ABA software in providing care. Must be able to train and assist others to use clinical platforms.
  • Perform physical activity required in this role when demonstrating appropriate practices and techniques with team members.
  • Flexible to step in to provide supervision and direct clinical assistance if needed.
  • Must successfully complete a Level Two Background Check.

Location & Travel

This position is based out of our Sarasota, Florida corporate office. Must be willing and able to travel as required, at least 50% of the time, including overnight travel monthly. Must be flexible to travel immediately as requested and needed without constraint.
