Virginia Tech is Hiring a Project Manager Near Blacksburg, VA
This position involves juggling multiple tasks and projects and meeting deadlines and managing staff position supporting these projects. In order to keep everything running seamlessly, the project manager should be extremely organized, capable of multitasking and managing time well. This position also requires collaboration at all levels of the partner organizations, working with team members, senior management, and customers to move the project forward and requires excellent communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, education, public affairs or related fields
- Demonstrated professional project/program management experience in conducting complex activities in an academic or industrial environment
- Strong composition, communication, and organizational skills
- The willingness to work in a fast-paced flexible research environment
- Proficiency with current office computer software such as MS Word, PPT, and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Creative, independent, and highly motivated
- Strong work habits and the ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Advanced degree or substantial experience in a field related to data collection and analysis and the communication of complex information to the general public
- Awareness and understanding of issues involving human resource management, experiential learning, or workforce development programming
- Ability to edit and develop communication materials for multiple audiences
