Description

Full-time provider medical assistant to join our nursing department and float across office locations. A provider medical assistant is a nurse who works side-by-side with a physician to provide nursing functions using established procedures and standards to assist with patient appointments and procedures.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

• Interview new patients and record patient information
• Assist with patient exams and procedures
• Request diagnostic testing and communicate results to patient in a timely manner
• Stock and clean exam rooms
• Ensure all required written forms, computer documentation, and patient medical records are completed in a timely manner
• Administer injections and medications
• Coordinate prescription orders with pharmacy and patient

Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of clinical techniques
• Ability to function effectively as a team member
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to collaborate with physicians, staff, and management
• Ability to perform effectively in stressful situations
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Flexibility to travel across multiple office locations

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Required Minimum 2 years clinical experience (preferred OB/GYN or primary care concentration)

Certifications/Licensure:

• Current Medical Assistant Certification or ability to obtain it within 12 months of employment
