Virginia MetalFab is looking for a motivated and energetic individual to fill the role of a Supermarket Kitter.

WHO YOU ARE IN THIS ROLE

As a Supermarket Kitter you will be a part of an AWESOME shop team and you'll be the expert on the ground, ensuring that our products are kitted accurately for specific customers. You will collect, assemble, and stage parts/products per work order and stages into the correct bin to be welded, assembled, counted and identified, or shipped.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Read tape measure.
• Read and understand job tickets.
• Pick/ pull and stage parts, products and raw materials and place in appropriate bin and carts for distribution to the assembly lines. Subassembly of wires for kitting.
• Scan work order ticket into system.
• Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or polish metal or plastic workpieces.
• Inspect or measure finished workpieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as gauges or micrometers and tape measure.
• Select machine tooling to be used, using knowledge of machine and production requirements.
• Documents materials and records units delivered and location of units.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
• Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
• Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.

SHIFT

Monday - Thursday: 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: HS or GED

Experience: At least 1 year work experience in in the metal fabrication industry preferred.

Computer Skills: Ability to operate computer production software.

Certifications & Licenses: Forklift preferred.

Other Requirements: Experience handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Able to wear PPE in the shop area.

Physical Demands

Lift/carry - Up to and including 51-100 lbs. frequently.

Push/pull - Up to 41-100 lbs. frequently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposure to outside elements and working in a non-climate controlled environment.
