At Virginia Heart, we are looking for a professional Cardiac Sonographer who is an experienced in non-invasive cardiac ultrasound procedures to evaluate the structure and function of the heart. We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team in our outpatient cardiology setting. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assesses and interview patients scheduled for echocardiography procedures to confirm order and determine indications and appropriateness of the procedure.
Acquires high quality diagnostic images and data according to established laboratory protocols.
Acquires and analyzes data obtained from the following ultrasound procedures:
Resting Transthoracic Echocardiogram
Resting Transthoracic Echocardiogram with Agitated Saline Contrast
Resting Transthoracic Echocardiogram with Left Ventricular Opacification Contrast
Stress Echocardiogram
Stress Echocardiogram with Left Ventricular Opacification Contrast
Authorizes prescription refills under direct supervision of the physician.
Enters data in the EMR.
Provides patient education.
Other activities and responsibilities as directed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Associates degree preferred.
Successful completion of of a cardiac sonography program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), through the Joint Review Committee in Cardiovascular Technology (JRC-CVT) and the Joint Review Committee in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS)
ARDMS registry preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Computer Literate, prior experience with the use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred.
Prior experience in a clinical position, cardiology field preferred.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal and patient care skills.
