Virginia Commonwealth University is Hiring a Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Physician (M60258) Near Richmond, VA

Mission or Goal of Unit:

The Children’s Hospital of Richmond at theVirginia Commonwealth University Health System has committed itself totransforming the Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology into a modelacademic unit devoted to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and clinical,translational, and basic research.

Chief Purpose of this position:

The Division ofPediatric Allergy and Immunology at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VirginiaCommonwealth University (CHOR at VCU) is recruiting for a non-tenure eligiblephysician to participate in clinical, teaching and research activities. TheDivision currently has 3 clinical faculty, an advanced practice provider, a nursecoordinator and a nurse navigator. Providers see patients at the downtownChildren’s Pavilion and travel to outlaying community clinics. Additionally,the division has an active ACGME approved fellowship program in coordinationwith the Department of Internal Medicine.

Position Responsibilities:

Teaching: Faculty member will have teachingresponsibilities. Faculty member will provide teaching and mentorship tomedical students, Residents, Chief Residents, and Fellows when applicable.
Research: Faculty member will have working knowledge in researchmethods and be able to participate in clinical, translational, and outcomesresearch.
Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental orSchool of Medicine level committees when appropriate, and engage inprofessional activities through journal review, conference presentations, etc.
Clinical: Faculty member will serve as a pediatric allergyand immunology physician for the Department of Pediatrics in the Division ofPediatric Allergy and Immunology. The division provides clinical care to bothinpatient and outpatient arenas.
Other: Faculty member willtake on administrative duties associated with this role.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Board certified in Pediatrics. Board certified or board eligible in Allergy and Immunology
  • Experience with clinical care of patients
  • Experience in an academic medical center
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
