The OVPRI and our Division of Sponsored Programs (DSP)invites all interested candidates to apply for an exciting opportunity as theAssistant/Associate Research Administrator (Job Family - Research, Job Title - Assistant or AssociateResearch Administrator, Job Code - 34121-34123 or 34124-34126).
The Assistant or Associate Research Administratoris responsible for the following duties:
*Delegated authority refers to the ability toexecute documents pertaining to: (1) the application for and award of grant, contractsand other agreements to the university for research, development, training andpublic service and (2) the award of grants and other monies to otherinstitutions for research, development, training and public service. Readinessfor delegation authority will be determined by Director, DSP
Minimum Hiring Standards:
Strong knowledge of 2 CFR 200, UniformAdministrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements forFederal Awards and individual federal and state agency regulations. Ability tointerpret and apply guidelines to individual situations. Strong written andverbal communication skills. Ability to relate proposed budgets to proposedactivities. Familiarity with common office computer applications, internetapplications. Ability to learn specialized applications such as customizeddatabase RAMS-SPOT (Research Administration Management System-SponsoredPrograms Online Tracking.) The candidate should have demonstrated experience workingin and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment orcommitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Hiring Standards:
Advanced degree or commensurate experience preferred. CRA preferred.
