Vinegar Hill House Seeks a Brunch Server

Vinegar Hill House is a relaxed restaurant in an unassuming and historical part of the Brooklyn waterfront. Our intent is to use the best ingredients possible through developing relationships with like-minded produce, meat and fish producers, to compose artful and satisfying eats out of our wood-fired oven.

Vinegar Hill House is looking for a Brunch Server who will exceed the expectations of all guests in a multitude of tasks that include but are not limited to taking orders and serving food and beverages to guests at tables in the restaurant, garden and private dining areas.

Job Requirements

• Must be able to work Saturday and Sunday mornings & necessary holidays.
• Follow steps of service to ensure that our guests have an excellent dining experience.
• Understand all food, wine and beverage menus to be able to confidently present them, talk with guests and make any changes necessary and / or possible.
• Write down orders and enter them effectively into the POS to ensure that no mistakes are made.
• Communicate with coworkers and managers to ensure a smooth service.
• Assist with running food, bussing tables and escorting guests to their tables.
• Adhere to all standard operating procedures, policies, manuals, training material, memos, and verbal instruction.
• Attend required staff meetings and wine tastings

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position.

This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.
