This is for a full time position in the Solar Division for a Solar Installer to assemble, layout and install solar related equipment to homeowners and commercial building rooftops.

Technical Responsibilities of the Job

  • Working off of plans and schematics
  • Layout of solar modules / array
  • Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment
  • Assembly of mounting hardware
  • AC and DC Electrical wiring of systems
  • Attic work in homes and businesses to verify structural attachment
  • System commissioning / start-up
  • Site clean-up
  • Job Documentation – photos
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, methodology and safety

Training/Certification

  • Self-motivated, organized with a can-do attitude
  • Experience in mechanical installations, general construction and ladder work
  • Basic understanding/experience with electrical wiring of AC and DC systems PREFERRED
  • 1-2 years of construction background is PREFERRED
  • Experience with all types of hand-held and power tools
  • Experience with small machinery (trenchers, bobcats, forklifts) PREFERRED
  • Experience working with all types of building materials - various roof types, stucco, wood,
  • concrete, Uni-strut, roofing etc PREFERRED
  • Team player who listens, learns, and actively communicates · Visual thinker good at problem solving and implementing ideas
  • Desire to learn and master all aspects of installing solar PV systems
  • Experience in working on 2 story roof (tile roof required)
  • Experience with Fall Protection
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Previous experience in roofing or installing sheet metal flashing or solar panels required
  • Strong work habits
  • Valid CDL
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Follow Safety rules

Education

  • H.S. Diploma, two-year degree in technology/industrial arts PREFERRED

Working conditions and management style:

  • Subject to adverse weather conditions – extreme heat and cold
  • Job sites can be loud, dusty,
  • Level of supervision to be expected
  • May be working in elevated areas (up to 2 stories)
  • Climbing, stooping, bending, crawling

Performance Standards:

  • Percentage of time spent in field, traveling, in meetings, etc. (varies)
  • Installers and Tradesman use a Field Skills Matrix to meet job goals and expectations – review with supervisor
  • All Villara employees are expected to work well with other team members, sub-contractors, and customers
  • Meeting deadlines as outlined by supervisor (bid times)
  • Showing up every day and on-time
  • Taking appropriate time for rest and meal breaks
  • No personal phone calls unless emergency
  • Complete timecards daily
  • Meeting Lean requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.20 - $29.15 per hour
