REPORTS TO: Director of Information Technology

Position Summary

This position will will provide support to residents of a senior living community and support the Network Administrator and Systems Engineer as needed. Must possess the ability to work with seniors on a variety of personal devices such as cell phones, cordless telephones, TV remotes, DVRs, CD players, iPads, computers, etc. Patience and the ability to work with seniors with limited technical ability are a must. Occasionally, this position will work with the Network Administrator and Systems Engineer.

Experience:

• Must have the ability and interest in working with seniors
• Moderate to advanced technical knowledge of personal devices such as cell phones, computers, telephones, TV remotes, email, smart televisions, Facebook, etc. will be very helpful
• Must have the ability to learn new technical tasks and procedures
• Must have patience and kindness while working with senior residents with little or no technical ability
• Must follow instructions and adhere to the limitations of support provided by the Director of Information Technology
• Must be able to work independently after training period
• Must be able to manage workday schedule
• Must pass a background check
• Must pass a driving record check- requires less than 10% travel to off-campus locations
• Preferred
• Moderate to advanced knowledge of Windows 10/11 troubleshooting
• Basic to moderate knowledge of wired and WiFi computer networking hardware and protocols
• Basic to moderate knowledge about Active Directory administrative tasks
• Basic to moderate knowledge about audio/video/conferencing systems and YouTube streaming of events/meetings

Education:

High school diploma

Essential Functions

• Assist residents with support from cable/internet company. Set appointments with the company on behalf of residents and attend the appointments
• Assist residents with personal devices such as computers, cell phones, TV remotes, printers, etc. within the parameters provided by Village Shalom
• Assist with basic skills such as opening email, entering WiFi passwords, etc.
• Assist Network Administrator and Systems Engineer with basic company support for employees as needed
• Maintain a calendar with appointments and follow through with residents
• Follow approved processes to perform assigned tasks
• Ensure customer satisfaction
• Record keeping within the support ticket system and other documentation
• Various projects assigned by the IT Director to support delivery of IT Department services to Village Shalom residents and staff
