Village Management Services is Hiring a Golf Course Attendant Near Laguna Woods, CA

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

When performing the duties of Player Assistant:

Drives designated golf cart to patrol course and keeps play moving. Permits authorized play and instructs golfers in misuse of greens and traps. Enforces play through rules as needed.

Carries sand in ranger cart and fills divots in Fairways as needed with sand.

Responsible for selling bottled water to players on the course; returns sales to snack bar.

Repairs ball marks on the greens without interrupting pace of play.

Advises and/or reports on misuse of motorized carts; checks for user fee decals to make sure they are current; enforces 90 degree rule. Uses rule violation notebook and citations according to instructions.

Inspects and reports to golf maintenance any areas that need attention such as wet or

dangerous areas (drains without covers). Uses the hand-held radio to report emergency situations.

Inspects course for broken or out of place stakes, replaces signs, ropes and rakes. Picks up and properly disposes of any trash seen on course (not materials or clippings left for removal by Golf Maintenance Crew).

Picks up daily Driving Rangereports and cash receipts; returns all items to the Pro Shop Starter.

In the morning, picks up mail from the Community Center Buildingand the daily sales reports from the Par 3 Course; returns all items to the Pro Shop Starter.

When performing the duties of the Cart Barn Attendant:

Checks electric Carts in and determines remaining battery charge; keeps batteries charged to proper levels; connects Carts to chargers at end of the day; and cleans the Carts, placing a score card and pencil in each Cart.

Drives Carts from the Cart Barn to staging area.

When performing the duties of the Driving Attendant:

Opens/closes driving range, unlocks/locks rooms, counts and balances cash.

Records number of baskets sold balances receipts and keeps area clean and orderly.

Picks up balls on range with truck, ball pick-up unit and by hand in inaccessible places, runs through ball cleaning machine and fills ball baskets.

When performing the duties of Snack Bar Attendant:

Morning shift prepares the snack bar to open; greets and serves residents and guests.

Afternoon shift attendant closes the cash register for the day; returns daily report and cash receipts to the Pro Shop Starter; restocks the snack bar; secures and locks the snack bar.

Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Snack Bar.

The following duties applies to all employees:

Always approach everyone in a friendly and courteous manner.

Drives a vehicle to perform job-related responsibilities.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists in other areas of golf course operations as required.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

Truck, golf cart, ball pick-up unit, ball cleaning machine, cash register and calculator.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to dust, fumes and normal outdoor elements.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Community resident with extensive work experience involving public contact or

equivalent combination of education and experience which produces the following:

· of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.

· of golf course playing rules.

· of division and department rules, procedures and functions.

· to communicate pleasantly and effectively.

· to relate to the needs and concerns of senior citizens.

· to communicate effectively with various levels of management.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid California driver's license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, see and use hands to finger, grasp, feel, reach and carry up to 10 lbs. The employee is regularly required to stand for periods up to 4 hour and walk up to 3 hours. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, pull, push, stoop and lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee reads, solves problems, uses verbal and written communication skills, and able to handle frequent customer contact and interruptions.

Pay: From $16.82 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
