Job Title: Licensed, Behavioral Health Clinician
Job Code: HCP050/Social Worker, Licensed
Shift: Full-Time (40 hours per week on average)
Job Hours: Day
Base Location: Covington, GA.
Division/Department/Program: Newton Outpatient Center

View Point Health proudly provides outpatient treatment to children, adolescents and adults. We promote overall health and quality of life through treatment services (evidenced-based therapies and medication management) that reduce the impact of mental illness, behavior challenges, and substance abuse for individuals, youth, and families.

Under general supervision, performs psychosocial assessments, treatment planning/monitoring and discharge planning. Provides counseling/therapy to clients requiring complex intervention. Performs commitment determinations and/or executes orders of involuntary commitments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Completes diagnostic formulations and appropriate assessments on clients with mental illness and substance use disorder.
  • Collaboratively formulate a treatment plan addressing issues identified in assessments.
  • Provide short-term individual and group therapy using evidence-based practice therapies for client with SPMI &/or SUD
  • Assist clients in identifying, developing, and sustaining appropriate natural support systems.
  • Provide psychoeducation around mental health, substance use, trauma, and recovery.
  • Collaborate with other behavioral health and physical health providers to holistically address client needs.
  • Complete all required documentation (daily clinical notes, assessments, treatment plans) in an accurate and timely manner (agency standard 24hrs).
  • Participate in clinical supervision to increase competence and professional development.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide after hour coverage, via phone.
  • Completes annual training requirements as outlined by agency and/or supervisor.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

***Flexible weekly hours (ex. 8hrs/day, four 10s), Monday through Friday with some expanded hours, Hybrid work model***

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND eligibility to be licensed in the state of Georgia OR Master’s degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND associate licensure in the state of Georgia OR Master’s degree in a related area from an accredited or university AND full clinical licensure in the state of Georgia

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Carlogic or other HER/EMR.
  • Previous clinical experience working in Community Mental Health Care with SPMI, SUD, &/or Co-Occurring Disorders.
  • Experience providing ASAM or substance use specific groups such as Dual Diagnosis, DBT, Seeking Safety.

Requirements/Competencies:

  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
  • Requires long periods of sitting/standing.
  • Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
  • Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.
  • Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
  • Other duties as assigned.
