ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people.

Position Summary

Professional Development Specialist (Nursing) inspires professional nurses through human connections, innovation and experiential learning, utilizing evidence-based practice with the goal of advancing the mission of ECU Health.

Responsibilities

* Serve as Nurse Planner for continuing nursing education.

* Develop and evaluate core curricula.

* Lead experiential learning activities through innovative teaching and learning methods.

* Develop, implement and evaluate teaching and learning experiences to continuously improve quality, experience, and finance outcomes.

* Establish effective communication networks with unit and organization leadership.

* Creates a supportive environment for nursing research/EBP/QI and integrating into practice.

* Disseminate research findings through educational programs and other activities (internal and external).

Minimum Requirements

* MSN in Nursing Education or MSN with Postmasters Certificate in Education is required- or higher.

* Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of North Carolina.

* Professional Development Specialist-Nursing will be required to obtain Nursing Professional Development Certification within 3 years.

* 3 years to 5 years in clinical practice with evidence of clinical knowledge, leadership, and teaching.
