Job Description

The Body Shop Estimator examines damaged vehicles for dents, scratches, broken glass, and other areas requiring repair, replacement, or repainting.

He or she estimates the cost of repairing damaged automobile and truck bodies, on basis of visual inspection of vehicle and familiarity with standard parts, costs, and labor rates.

The ideal candidate has some post-secondary automotive training and at least two years of dealer-level or large facility experience.

He or she has an unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record and a strong technical and customer service performance record.

A certification or designation in the field of automotive repair is a plusand computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Estimates the cost of repairing damaged vehicles, on the basis of a visual inspection and familiarity with parts, costs and labor rates
• Examines damaged vehicles to determine feasibility and costs of repairor replacement of parts
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
• Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
• Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
• Follows all safety policies and procedures
• Responsible for reading work order
• Assists with coordination of parts needed

Job Requirements :

• Professional and dependable
• Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
• Experience working in a collision repair or body shop a plus
• Polishing experience required
• Quality conscious and detail-oriented
