Job Function Reporting into the Plant Manager, the Sr. Process Engineer will be based out of New Johnsonville, Tennessee and will be responsible for developing and maintaining operational standards in the plant. They work closely with operations to identify equipment performance issues. They work closely with the maintenance in identifying opportunities for new or upgraded equipment and developing operating standards for new or upgraded equipment. Responsibilities Assist operations in troubleshooting the process. This position will have the junior process engineers reporting to it. Develop and maintain operating standards on existing equipment. Publish work instructions. Train staff on new or updated work instructions and monitor compliance. Develop and implement process improvements. Trial and qualify improvements with operational staff. Identify opportunities for improvement in existing equipment and control systems Develop reporting systems for operational metrics Work with Innovation group for new product testing and plant introduction Reduce complexity in all processes. Work with operations and maintenance and assist in developing design specifications for new or modified equipment Assist operations and maintenance in developing qualification testing for new or modified equipment Develop operational standards on new equipment or processes Work with operations and maintenance and assist in developing design specifications for new or modified equipment Follows all company and customer safety, health and environmental policies and procedures Responds to change productively Handles other duties as required Follow appropriate quality procedures and work instructions Assist in training employees on appropriate items Attend training classes in-plant or other locations as assigned Required Experience Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering 6-10 years in a Process Engineering role in a chemical manufacturing environment. Experience managing junior engineers or interns. Experience managing and leading projects, demonstrating the ability to coordinate and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers. Preferred Experience A master’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
