Administers shop floor scheduling of daily priorities and the corresponding material movement for assigned products in the manufacturing facility. This is a 2nd shift position. Essential duties and responsibilitiesAccomplishes management-determined objectives in areas of production, quality, personnel relations, and safety. Develops solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and collaboration.Leads, guides, and directs the daily work activities of department employees in support of CLT’s production, quality, and safety goals. Coordinates with appropriate departments to achieve stated objectives.Understands key metrics and targets; identifies gaps, and leads problem-solving efforts.Directs and assists in training employees. Provides employee coaching and development, and screening of new hires.Effectively and consistently handles employee issues as they pertain to established employee relations policies including planning work schedules, monitoring performance, controlling attendance and disciplinary problems, and assuring timely and accurate written documentation of employee conflict resolution.Communicates with other supervisory personnel on issues or concerns that occurred during the shift.Supports other department initiatives in areas of documentation, investigation, and reporting. Responsible for all other duties as assigned.This position has the freedom to act under nominal supervision in both structured and relatively unstructured assignments of varying levels of complexity. Ability to stop production when necessary.Initiates progressive discipline policy.Schedules employee work hours and work group assignments.Environmental working conditionsMinimal lifting (20 lbs), carrying (10 lbs), bending, pushing/pulling, crawling, climbing, balancing, and prolonged standing.Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items.This position normally works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned, indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.QualificationsHigh school education or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years' experience in production planning/control, manufacturing computer systems, or related area.Proficient with manufacturing computer systems.Previous production control experience preferred.General understanding of medical device quality system requirements, particularly in the area of process control. Previous leadership experience required.Possesses written and oral communications skills sufficient to participate in discussions, interviews, and negotiations; prepare various forms of written business communication; and read work-related periodicals, manuals, dictionaries, and encyclopedias.Performs basic computer operations (email, record keeping, and routine database activity, etc.) and utilizes advanced features of software packages (word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.).Performs intermediate arithmetic, geometric and algebraic calculations; including ratios, rates, and percentages.Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form. Deals with problem solving involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.Handles multiple projects simultaneously. Quality orientation and attention to detail.Problem analysis and resolution.An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.Leads by example adherence to company’s policies regarding attendance, quality, and conduct expectations.Good decision-making skills.
