Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Music Director to join our team. As the Music Director, you will be responsible for leading and directing musical performances, overseeing rehearsals, and collaborating with other musicians and performers. Qualifications:

· The candidate must have an associate degree in music, or a related field and two years specialized experience in (or a combination of) planning, directing, teaching, leading, and supporting a religious musical program in a church environment; this degree must be from an accredited college or university.

· At least 2 (two) years of experience with liturgical ministries and maintain requisite skills in a variety of sacred musical genres appropriate for religious worship.

· The candidate must possess instrumental (keyboard) and vocal music skills in both direction and performance that are comparable to a similar position in secondary education settings. These skills must include the ability to recommend relevant musical selections to the Officiating Chaplain; lead the congregation in singing.

Tasks And Duties:

· Have skills and experience acceptable to lead a variety of religious worship services. The candidate shall schedule, lead, and rehearse all volunteer musicians, including choir, instrumental ensembles, vocalists, and instrumental soloists.

· Have the ability to sight read music, play Catholic Mass and traditional/contemporary Protestant worship/praise music on a piano.

· Demonstrate skills conducting and directing other musicians, choir, chorus groups, and vocalists in four-part musical scores. The DMA shall possess the ability to develop rapport and promote teambuilding within the liturgical volunteer choir.

· Shall be fluent in written and spoken English.

· Assist the Command Chaplain in support of CRP. Seek program direction and guidance from the Command Chaplain when necessary.

· Provide leadership, direction, and administration for the Catholic and Protestant musical program.

· DMA must have a positive personality and pleasant demeanor when interfacing with chapel staff, visitors, military personnel, parishioners, and others.

· The DMA shall be able to perform primarily sedentary work. Some walking, standing, carrying of light items, cleaning of immediate work area is required.

· provide musical direction for both Protestant and Roman Catholic worship services.

Accompaniment for the rendition of music required during worship services. This will include prelude music, calls to worship, congregational singing, offertories, postludes, and other music as required by the respective chaplain or CRMP. The Government will provide music compositions. Additional music presented by the candidate will be based on compositions appropriate to the faith groups attending worship services.
