ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise maintenance services of all tools, equipment, and machines used within the division.
• Ensure service coverage is adequate for production needs.
• Oversee the predictive maintenance program.
• Order and maintain parts and supplies inventory.
• Assist with equipment and machine installation or repair, as necessary.
• Designs or modifies equipment, jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
• Responsible for assuring team members receive training needed for their position.
• Ensure team members have a strong understanding of their job responsibilities.
• Coordinate efforts to ensure proper safety and ergonomics standards and guidelines are met in work area.
• Ensure staffing requirements are met.
• Encourage team member growth and development.
• Demonstrates the Viaflex Team Member Values in their daily actions and encourages their teams to do the same.
• Administer annual team member performance reviews, goal setting, and participate in salary planning process.
• Maintain records on direct reports in relation to attendance and performance.
• May lead or contribute to department improvement initiatives.
• Displays outstanding contribution and impact to the team and projects.
• Manages projects that involve the design and building of production equipment.
• Coordinate and oversee tasks of contractors.
• Oversee cost of maintaining and purchasing parts and equipment.
• Make recommendations on equipment purchases and repairs.
• Assist with the design of equipment for optimal production, safety, and quality.
• Work with other technicians to assure their skills are kept current.
• Innovative in nature, and contributes to new ideas.
• Provide leadership or direction on production issues, and keep appropriate staff informed of issues or concerns.
• Develop and execute budgets, short-term plans, and long-term plans, policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• serve as liaison between departments to assist with production related issues.
• Develop preventative maintenance program for new and existing equipment. Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree in technical field. Minimum 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems. Ability to read schematics and interpret equipment manuals. Ability to use various hand tools and test equipment. Proficiency with a computer. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to coach, mentor, and empower team members to succeed. High level of patience and service. Ability to motivate team members. Problem-solving abilities. Ability to identify waste and creatively look for solutions. Ability to be flexible and multitask. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff. Depending on division, forklift certification is required. Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required. Refer to Viaflex Vehicle Operations Policy CS-13 for guidelines.

Physical Requirements: Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Working Conditions: Exposure to a normal office environment. Position may occasionally require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
