Position: Senior Information and Technology Manager - Full Time

Location: Springfield, MA

Rate of Pay: $28.00 Per hour

Hours: 40 Hours per week; Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with flexibility for other days and hours as needed

Summary:

  • The Senior IT Manager is responsible to manage the agency’s IT needs in partnership with our Managed Service Provider (MSP), and with the assistance of an IT Support Specialist. This includes responding to service needs; tracking and reporting on IT system performance and security; equipment set ups, maintenance, and inventory; diagnosing and addressing internet connectivity and access at our sites; and implementing special projects. In coordination with the CFO and MSP contract, the IT Manager will implement IT strategies and initiatives in alignment with company objectives, oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, and manage and optimize IT systems, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure prompt help desk support services to Viability’s staff and program participants, managing the customer service and relationship needs as well as technical needs. Work hands on responding to help desk tickets personally when needed to manage volume.
  • Oversee and supervise the IT Support Specialist, including hiring orientation, scheduling, assigning work, guidance, communication, training, compliance with standards, and performance management.
  • Manage the relationships with contracted vendors, including our Managed Service Provider
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex IT issues and provide timely resolution.
  • Track system performance and report on key indicators monthly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology and training needs and implement solutions accordingly. 
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices, accreditation, and contractual requirements, including system requirements for HIPAA and Medicaid/Medicare. 
  • Create and update documentation for IT procedures and systems. Review and update our WISP (Written Information Security Plan) annually.
  • Communicate new tools, system improvements, system disruptions and failures, and other information to staff members thoughtfully, accurately, and timely and in accordance with CFO instructions.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Coordinate with the Vice President of Marketing Communications to support our social media platforms. Serve as back up monitor of our social media accounts. 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an IT Manager or in a similar senior-level IT leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and supporting IT teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels with composure and professionalism.
  • Ability to think through, identify and effectively order and coordinate steps and stages of standard projects. Strategic thinking and the ability to align IT initiatives with overall business goals is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and own means of traveling to Viability sites or other locations for providing services, moving equipment, meetings, training, purchasing, or other business needs. 
  • Willing and able to work in ways that align with Viability’s mission, vision, and values.
