ABOUT THE POSITION

Parking Planning and Operations Lead – Transportation Engineering | Hybrid | New York, NY

VHB is looking for a Parking Planning and Operations Lead in the Mobility/Transportation Engineering Department to join our growing team in New York Metro. VHB’s Mobility group has earned a reputation as one of New York City’s preeminent traffic engineering and transportation planning teams and excited to expand our practice. This position provides an opportunity to be a leader in the group and play an important role in expanding and shaping the group. We are looking for someone with a blend of technical expertise, managerial skills, and innovative thinking.

Responsibilities

• Team leader for transportation projects involving parking design/planning, operations, and traffic analysis
• Assist with strategy for the Parking Planning and Transportation Engineering market sectors
• Manage projects of varying sizes in both the public and private sectors
• Manage client relationships
• Manage staff, and provide technical and professional development of staff
• Monitor project financial performance
• Attend and lead meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues
• Execute scope associated with transportation planning, operations and/or design for projects as necessary
• Participate in professional organizations that promote relationships with clients and teaming partners
• Develop new project opportunities, and prepare and manage proposal submissions

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Transportation Engineering
• Master’s degree preferred (may substitute for 1 year of experience)
• 15 years of professional transportation engineering and/or planning experience required
• Experience with parking design/planning and traffic analysis in NY market required
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required
• Substantial technical and project management experience

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $170,000 – 190,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
