About the Position

VHB’s Bedford, NH office is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join our growing Transportation practice. This position provides an opportunity to work on complex transportation projects for major federal, state and local clients.

VHB’s Bedford office is a dynamic growing office with a variety of passionate engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who provide a broad range of engineering and environmental services to public and private clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation design and solutions for a multitude of transportation and highway-related projects
• Highway design
• Drainage design
• Traffic control development
• Preliminary and final design plans
• Contract documents, including specifications
• Engineer’s construction cost estimates

 Skills & Abilities

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Comfortable working independently as well as on a team
• Engage with multi-discipline design team(s)
• Ability to work in an office or virtual environment
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, and committed
• Strong computer skills
• Critical thinking and problem solving

 Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering 
• 0-3 years of professional transportation/highway engineering experience
• EIT preferred
• MicroStation / InRoads / OpenRoads, AutoCAD / Civil3D experience is a plus
