VetPowered is dedicated to bringing advanced manufacturing back to America.Key Job Functions:At VetPowered the C10 Licensed Electrician will be responsible for leading and executing a wide range of electrical projects, from initial planning through to completion. This role demands a high level of expertise in electrical systems, a thorough understanding of state and national electrical codes, and the ability to manage both projects and personnel effectively. The individual hired into this role must have an active C10 Electrician Contracting license and have experience in commercial and industrial electrical projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Contractor Coordination/Work:
  • Perform General Contractor activities as required/when directed.
  • Safely and competently manage and perform the construction, plumbing, carpentry, concrete, and remodeling projects assigned.
  • When directed, propose the hiring of subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams and supervise them to ensure they conform to schedule and cost projections/estimates and quality standards.
  • Ensure all parties understand their roles, responsibilities, and project milestones.
  • Conduct regular meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Facility Maintenance, Shipping, and Receiving as required/ directed.
Project Planning and Management:
  • Professionally collaborate with internal and external clients to understand project requirements, objectives, and timelines.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Develop Statements of Work with Not To Exceed (NTE) estimates that include time and cost as requested/directed.
  • When directed, obtain necessary permits and licenses for construction activities.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for projects.
  • Monitor expenses, track costs, and implement cost-saving measures when possible.
  • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and payment requests.
Quality Assurance:
  • Maintain high standards of quality throughout the construction process.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations on the construction site.
  • Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions for workers.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards.
Client Communication:
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project progress, timelines, and budget.
  • Address client concerns, requests, and changes to project scope.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients to foster trust and satisfaction.
  • Project Execution: Lead the execution of electrical projects, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with all safety and quality protocols.
  • Electrical Installation: Perform complex electrical installations in commercial, industrial, and residential settings, including wiring, fixtures, control systems, and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and repair electrical problems in existing systems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to clients’ operations.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any California-specific regulations. Implement and adhere to all OSHA and company-specific safety standards.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior electricians and apprentices, promoting a culture of learning, safety, and excellence within the team.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients on job sites, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction with the electrical services provided.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of advancements in electrical technology, codes, and best practices through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications & Work Experience: To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (with or without an accommodation). The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Valid C10 Electrical Contractor License in the State of California.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working as an electrician, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the NEC, local electrical codes, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical plans and blueprints, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong leadership abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with team members, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on emergency call-outs as required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong working ability of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Superior organizational skills including attention to detail and time management.

  • Project Completion Time: Projects are on time or early.
  • Budget Variance: Project completion comes in at or under budget.
  • Safety Performance: Zero reported injuries or near-miss injuries reported.
  • Quality Assurance: All work completed must pass inspection the first time.
Important Notes Position Details: This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position (40 hours/week). Pay: This pay does not include any opportunity for incentive compensation and is only reflective of the base pay for this position.The range of pay for this California-based position is $36.00-$43.00 per annually. The actual compensation offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
