Description

Bay Beach Veterinary Emergency Hospital is looking for experienced LVTs for our Emergency Services! 

We utilize our LVTs to the fullest extent, so the ideal candidate must be a self-propelled individual. We expect our technicians to set the flow and lead the staff through the shift, however we must be willing to take direction from others. We are a progressive practice and do our best to keep up as veterinary medicine and our community changes. Hampton Roads is in dire need of driven staff to help keep Emergency Medicine accessible to our community.

Our LVT's play a crucial role in incoming triage, emergency stabilization, in house diagnostics and treatments, Intensive care of all hospitalized patients, and in depth client education.

Our hospital offers free self-guided continuing education via the 4ACT platform, uniform allowance, employee pet discounts, health coverage, annual CE allowance and paid time off for full-time employees.

Salary:
$23 - $30 

Schedule: 

Full time (35 hours/week) emergency schedule including nights and weekends with respect to work–life balance. 

Part time (20 hours/week) emergency schedule includes some nights and weekends with respect to work-life balance.

We offer a variety of schedule options and do our best to balance individual needs with hospital needs.

The right candidate is:

• Empathetic/Generous-helps both clients and staff with kind hands and compassion 

Skills necessary:  

Venipuncture, IVC placement, anatomical knowledge, radiograph and anesthetic skill, medical math, pharmacological knowledge, willingness to learn and admit when direction is needed. 

Advanced skills of Central line, PICC line, NG tube, bandaging techniques, wound repairs, U-Cath placements and other skills can be mentored.

Requirements

Requirements: 

• Licensed in the state of Virginia 
• ER experience preferred, but willing to mentor the right candidate
