Immediate Hiring Need for a Certified Safety Professional

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing safety programs, implementing behavior-based safety practices, managing site-specific safety plans, and conducting root-cause analyses of health and safety incidents. This position will require approximately 40-50% of your time.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the main point of contact for safety issues and serve as the regional safety expert for clients, regulators, and company staff.
• Provide safety leadership and work closely with the Operations, Legal, Quality, and Leadership to create, maintain, and promote a high value on safety and communicate clearly to stakeholders about safety responsibilities, safety aims, and objectives within the business.
• Develop, implement, and review site-specific safety plans to ensure comprehensive safety measures.
• Establish and maintain a program of continuous improvement in Health and Safety that includes conducting job-site safety audits.
• Maintain accident records and prepare reports for the Health and Safety Committee and Leadership, utilizing statistical and other analytical tools for accurate documentation.
• Manage internal incidents; ensure that safety emergencies and injuries are properly addressed, documented, and reported.
• Ensure that a thorough accident management system is in place, to undertake risk assessment processes to identify hazards and to ensure that appropriate control measures are in place
• Manage compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Lead and direct the Safety Committee with quarterly meetings
• Review all contract documents and subcontractor safety programs 
• Identify required safety training needed in each department 
• Monitor, evaluate and review health and safety legislation 

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of safety-related experience in industrial manufacturing or engineering is required.
• The following licenses or certifications are required:
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• CPR/First Aid
• Bachelor's degree required
• Experience managing and/or conducting OSHA investigations
• Experience researching facts and data from internal and external sources
• Strong leadership and supervision experience
• Experience communicating action plans 
• Experience implementing behavioral-based safety techniques to improve safety culture

Not Required But Our Ideal Candidate Would Have:

• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certificate
• ISO 45001 or OHSAS 180001
• Certified OSHA Outreach Trainer
• 10 years’ safety related experience
