VetCor is Hiring a Director of Operations - Rockies and the Pacific Northwest Near Portland, OR

VetCor has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Operations for our thriving and expanding Veterinary hospital groups in the Rockies and the Pacific Northwest.

This role will oversee a team of regional managers and the operations of their hospitals and help drive their short-term goals and long-term strategies and initiatives. The ideal candidate is someone who has successfully managed multi-unit/multi-state regions and has enthusiasm for veterinary medicine and pet care. This position will ideally be based in the greater Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, or Denver, CO metro areas. The Director of Operations role will report to a Vice President of Operations.

The Director of Operations is responsible for motivating, influencing, and inspiring their team of Regional Managers and local-level hospital leaders. They must have a passion for team development, be adept and critical thinking and strategic decision-making, and be comfortable with producing results. Core job responsibilities include:

  • Provide guidance and operational excellence to a team of Regional Managers and up to 180 veterinary hospitals.
  • Strategic and financial business acumen to scale a rapidly growing business. Develop and execute monthly, quarterly, and yearly initiatives.
  • Oversee operational efficiencies within the regions that are critical to success.
  • Identify areas of growth and opportunity, providing recommendations to the team.
  • Drive results by hosting weekly management meetings, reviewing regional performance plans, analyzing data, meeting deadlines, and setting objectives.
  • Drive employee morale, engagement, and retention.
  • Partnership with the support teams on matters of HR, legal, accounting/finance, acquisitions, payroll, recruiting, etc.
  • Travel within the regions (sometimes requiring overnight stays) and occasional trips to other regions or the corporate office, as needed.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experienced multi-state (ideal) or multi-site (considered) operational management and leadership in the veterinary (ideal), healthcare (considered), dental fields (considered), or retail (considered).
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, agile, organized, flexible, adaptable, and able to influence, motivate, inspire, and mentor individual regional leaders and practices.
  • A passion and ability for building long-lasting bonds of trust that support VetCor's continued success, and long-term vision and mission.
  • Must be located in Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, or Denver, CO metro areas.
