SUMMARY

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled construction worker specializing in various trades required for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in their chosen trade and a proven track record of working with reputable businesses. As a skilled construction worker, you will contribute to the successful completion of new facility construction projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines.

Our walls are fabricated at our headquarters in Salt Lake City by an expert team of carpenters and welders, then shipped to job sites across the country for assembly by our attentive, detail-oriented field crew. Vertical Solutions also produces a full fleet of climbing holds and pads, and offers in-depth business development consulting, making us the only true full-service gym builder in the U.S

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the construction team to execute commercial construction projects according to plans and specifications.
  • Operate a wide range of hand and power tools, ensuring safe and efficient use.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction documents to determine work requirements.
  • Carry out skilled tasks in the chosen trade, such as carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC installation, masonry, or painting.
  • Adhere to building codes and safety guidelines to promote a safe and secure working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including subcontractors and suppliers, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any construction-related issues that may arise during the project.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and organized conditions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following trades: carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC installation, masonry, or painting.
  • Demonstrated experience working on commercial construction projects
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and construction documents.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, safety procedures, and regulations related to the chosen trade(s).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with project team members.
  • Be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Communicate progress and arising problems with team leaders/project foreman
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and production standards
  • Wear company provided safety equipment IE (harness, hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses)
  • Reliable, shows up to shift on time each day
  • Proactive, self-starter, positive attitude
  • Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work and participate effectively in a team environment
  • Valid driver license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant trade certifications or licenses (e.g., journeyman certifications, trade-specific licenses, etc.).
  • Experience operating heavy machinery or specialized equipment related to the chosen trade.
  • Familiarity with construction software and technology for project management and documentation.
  • Ability to operate skid steer, mini excavator, word chipper, and other large landscaping/forestry tools
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
  • Welding certification is a bonus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand on your feet the majority of the day;
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.;
  • Stooping and bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist;
  • Regularly works at heights (scissor lifts, boom lifts);
  • Potential exposure to hazardous chemical materials;
  • Noise level is typical of that found in a manufacturing environment;
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions.
  • Regular and repetitive use of hands to handle, feel and operate machinery;
  • Crouching, kneeling, twisting, reaching, climbing, pushing and pulling;
  • Exposure to weather and environmental conditions.

Pay Range DOE:

$25-$30 Per hour
