Versar is Hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician Near Manassas, VA
A 90-Day Temporary Assignment as a full-time Facility Maintenance Technician at the Dulles, VA International Airport Corporate Hangar Complex is open with Versar Global Solutions. The hourly pay is $30-$38. This position does not come with benefits.
Schedule/Shift: 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
Landscaping
- Mow, trim, edge lawn area; remove debris from lawn area
- Remove and dispose of dead limbs on trees and shrubbery
Paved Areas Maintenance
- Remove debris from ramps, sidewalks, and service road areas
- Vacuum/sweep using sweeper
Snow Removal
- When snow accumulates over ½ inch, use snow plow attachments on trucks to remove snow from sidewalks, parking lots, and service roads
- Apply salt to icy areas
Fire Compression Systems Pump House
- Support Site Manager in overseeing pump house activities and maintaining interior housekeeping
- Change lightbulbs and inspect lighting for defects inside pump house
Equipment Repairs
- Make minor repairs to mechanical equipment such as sweeper, snowplows, etc.
Miscellaneous
- Stripping and repainting fencing; repairing fencing; re-attaching signs to fence and gates; inspecting parking lot lighting, removing large debris from ramp and flightline; and other similar tasks as needed.
- Drives company truck to local hardware and supply stores for materials and parts, as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably in an industrial setting
- Experience working at an airport or hangar a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
- Valid United States Driver's License
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., 30-40 times in a row
*Employment for the selected candidate in this role is conditional upon successful screening results, to include a drug screen, motor vehicle records check, federal criminal background check, FAA site screenings, and Dulles Airport fingerprinting and badging access/credentials.
