Job Description

VersaDesk is on the lookout for a dynamic Full Stack Web Developer who possesses a keen understanding of both UI and UX principles to craft exceptional user experiences. We value candidates who can appreciate the essence of clean and artistic web designs, demonstrating exceptional skills in user interface design.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Design and Development:

• Lead the visual design stages from concept to the final hand-off to engineering.
• Conceptualize original website ideas that emphasize simplicity and user-friendliness, navigating through complex challenges with ease.
• Translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional designs.

1. Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with the CMO, Creative Director and other stakeholders to ensure clarity in requirements and proposed design alterations.
• Reach out proactively for additional information needed for projects.
• Communicate potential misunderstandings.

1. Proactive Problem-Solving:

• Identify potential coding issues before they arise and plan development to prevent them.
• Research and evaluate tools or techniques that can speed up development while enhancing the code’s durability, performance, and readability.

1. Coding and Testing:

• Adhere to the company’s best practices in implementing designs and addressing requirements through your coding.
• Plan and conduct various tests (use-case analysis, unit testing, integration testing) to detect and address bugs in existing products.

1. Ongoing Website Management:

• Continuously manage and optimize our website.
• Execute regular updates, edits, and fixes to ensure the site remains current, secure, and fully functional.
• Work closely with content creators and the marketing team to implement changes that enhance the user experience, improve SEO, and support marketing objectives.
• Monitor website performance, identify areas for improvement, and execute enhancements on a daily basis.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and web trends that could be adopted to keep the website ahead of competitors.
• Ensure our website’s stability, speed, and scalability while maintaining a seamless and engaging user experience across all platforms.

1. Documentation:

• Creating comprehensive documentation needed by users and implementation partners.

1. Innovation and Security:

• Constantly seek and propose potential improvements to existing products.
• Manage website security and perform updates and modifications as needed.

Basic Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in the field, with extensive experience in developing with Shopify.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• A strong portfolio showcasing graphic design & web design skills, particularly with responsive web/mobile applications.
• Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps.
• Must have experience with Shopify.
• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
• Skilled in HTML, XHTML, HTML5, CSS, .NET Framework, C#, SQL Language, ASP.NET, Javascript, Ajax, SCSS, Ruby, and Python for rapid prototyping.
• Experience with responsive and mobile integration is crucial.
• Preference for candidates with experience in HubSpot, SAP, and project management software like Jira and Asana.
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Web trends, techniques, and technologies.
• Team spirit, strong communication, and good time-management skills.
