Legal Counsel Job Description
We are a growing telecommunications company currently operating in over 20 states. We are seeking a smart, motivated, positive, self-starter to join our legal team. This position will work closely with the VP of Legal, will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and will have an opportunity to learn and grow with a quickly expanding and successful company.
Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate customer and vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice and support on employment law, land rights, regulatory compliance, M&A, and litigation matters.
  • Research and analyze legal issues and developments affecting the telecom industry.
  • Providing legal advice and support on topics such as labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance, etc.
  • Assist the VP of Legal and other senior legal counsel with various legal projects and initiatives.
  • Researching and analyzing legal issues and developments affecting the telecom industry
  • Providing clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization
  • Conducting your work with integrity and responsibility
  • Maintaining current knowledge of alterations in legislation
  • Dealing with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces
  • Examining the contract and ensuring its legal validity
  • Explaining the contract and clarifying any legal language or specifications
  • Suggesting changes that would be in your best interest or protect you from losses and damages
  • Drafting and reviewing the legality of transactions, contracts, agreements, and joint ventures
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • 3-5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Familiarity with telecom companies or with telecom regulation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with employment law
  • Excellent communication, drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Admission to the state bar or eligible for admission
