Position Summary: As the AVP, Business Development, you will lead a team of community liaisons. Our community liaisons work closely with partners in the areas we serve, such as physician groups, health systems, home health agencies, hospice organizations, skilled nursing facilities, and senior living centers, to identify and enroll individuals eligible for our care programs. Our community liaisons are adept at connecting with partner referrals, describing our programs, and successfully enrolling individuals.

The AVP, Business Development is critical in developing growth strategies and leading a high-functioning team, including recruitment and performance management. The ideal candidate is a seasoned sales professional with prior experience in healthcare settings, adept at leading teams, outreach, growth initiatives, and partnership development.

Our preferred location for this role is the Bay Area; however, we are open to considering other candidates in California who meet the requirements. The position entails 60-70% travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership:
    • Direct and support a team of ~10 community liaisons, fostering a highly functioning team that consistently meets and exceeds sales objectives.
    • Serve as a sales coach and mentor, spending most of your time in the field alongside individual team members.
    • Manage and supervise sales staff in specific geographies, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • Relationship Development: Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with diverse referral sources.
  • Brand and Program Promotion: Enhance brand awareness and supportive and palliative care utilization among referral sources and the wider community.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive strategies for market penetration and growth; complete competitive analyses; monitor and adapt strategies based on market feedback and results.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Oversee the maintenance of client information and track team activities and outcomes using our client relationship management tools. Present data on success and outcome indicators related to referral and enrollment volume to management and executive teams.
  • Community Engagement and Representation: Lead and represent Vynca at networking events, provider events, and other community engagements.
  • Collaboration and Planning: Actively participate in departmental strategy sessions and staff meetings, collaborating with other departmental heads on integrated growth efforts.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry changes, competitive landscape, and opportunities for strategic advantage in your territory.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years in hospice, home health, pharmaceutical, or related healthcare sales and five (5) years of experience leading high-growth field-based sales teams.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, consultative sales ability, excellent communication, creative problem-solving, entrepreneurial mindset, and effective management of a sales team and territory.
  • Requirements: Valid driver's license, reliable automobile with proper registration and insurance.

  • On Target Earnings: $154,000- $182,000 with the ability to overachieve.
