About The Role

This is an exciting time to join Verkada's Communications team as an Associate Manager! You will be joining our small but mighty Comms team who play a big role in the company. Verkada's Communications team promotes and protects Verkada's reputation, bolstering awareness about the important role that our products and solutions play in making the communities that we live and work in safer. You will be charged with helping us cultivate and tell Verkada’s story to both external and internal audiences. The ideal candidate is an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, who possesses strong communication skills and the ability to successfully prioritize and execute tasks in alignment with the overall goals of the team. You have a growth and development mindset, know how to stay self-motivated, and lead with a positive mindset. This role reports into the VP of Communication and is based in our headquarters in San Mateo, CA.

What You’ll Be Expected To Do

• Proactively identify strong storytelling opportunities across multiple themes including business, culture and product
• Lead content and message development projects - ensuring everything we produce is highly strategic, well-written and rooted deeply in Verkada’s mission and values 
• Build and executes new communications programs and managing them to scale
• Develop and implement corporate communications strategies.

What You'll Need

• Bachelors degree from a four year university coupled with prior agency experience
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in communications with prior experience successfully driving corporate and/or product communications initiatives
• Ability to possess a strong understanding of how to tell stories in both today’s news and media landscape as well as internally 
• Ability to quickly understand Verkada’s products and services
• The ability to maintain positive inter-personal relationships in a fast paced, changing environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with impeccable attention to detail
• Ability to work independently but also collaborate effectively with a team
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
