Psychiatric RN (Travel)
Start ASAP – 13 weeks
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Must have 1 Year recent behavior health experience
Active NY RN License Certifications: BLS
Patient population consist both adult and children for outpatient. For the acute population, our focus is to stabilize acute psychosis, major depression, anxiety, and schizoaffective episodes within a 2-3-week period. Once a patient is stable and is no longer a danger to themselves or others, a person will return to the community to the appropriate level of care. For patients that have long-standing psychiatric impairments and decreased functional levels, the focus of care is rehabilitative & skill building to enable them to return to community living. Inpatient RNs are primarily responsible for the overall coordination of their assigned unit. An inpatient unit may consist of approximately 20 patients and are generally staffed with an RN Supervisor, an RN charge nurse, a medication nurse (RN/LPN) and supported by LPNs and therapy aides. RNs are assigned admissions, discharges, patient education, and participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning. RNs also work with their unit teams to provide direct patient care
