Vensure Employer Services is Hiring a Terminal Manager Near Newark, NJ

Position SummaryThe Terminal Manager is responsible for managing the location, including its employees, Equipment and yards with the objective of maintaining a safe work environment, maximizing Dispatch, Driver, and yard productivity, while controlling cost and meeting Terminal and Operational requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of day to day operations at the terminal Including ensuring that the terminal and its employees are fully equipped with all the equipment and supplies needed to complete their daily tasks
  • Review and sign off on daily reports pertaining to daily operations
  • Implement and manage all processes, policies and projects
  • Ensure that daily work assignments are completed properly and safely by all employees
  • Monitor employees adherence to company Safety, Professionalism, and SOP policies
  • Interview and hire new employees as deemed necessary by the company
  • Lead inspections and/or visits to the terminal by guests/customers/inspectors
  • Responsible for documenting and reporting any incidents involving the locations, Employees or Property
  • Monitor all services provided to/for the terminal to ensure timely service and cost effectiveness
  • Responsible for all equipment, and other company property belonging to the location including equipment parked off site
  • Reports to superiors on employees progress and terminal operations
  • At times may be required significantly extended shift hours based on business needs

Skills

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Basic proficiency with Mobile phones and using Mobile apps
  • Must have a current valid driver's license, Preferably a Class-A
  • Strong candidates are a self-starter with strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player attitude
  • Must have the ability to implement important changes rapidly
  • Must have the ability to work together across boundaries and exchange as well as adapt skill

Work Experience and Educations

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma/GED; College degree preferred
  • 5 years supervisory or management experience
  • 5 years transportation, supply chain, warehouse, experience or equivalent military experience
