Quality Control Technician

Report To

Quality Control Manager

Responsibilities

  • Inspect purchased parts and specialty items from supplier.
  • Inspect parts or products being fabricated, assembled, welded, or otherwise manufactured to assure compliance with quality standards.
  • In-process vehicle inspections. 
  • Final functional and visual inspection of vehicle.
  • Perform quality inspection of automotive metal fabrication work on pre-1980’s vehicles.
  • Inspection of both raw material and finished product for conformance to specifications.
  • Point of contact for quality issues in assembly area, interior shop, and parts department.
  • Quality inspection sign off on the Standard Operation Sheet (SOS).
  • Ensure any issues that would affect customer or vehicle functionality are escalated in a proper manner.
  • Ensure compliance & conformity for all activities involved.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, define plans to achieve goals, create timelines and provide status reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills and team-working tendencies
  • Collaborator, Good people skills, clear and concise communication.
  • Pre-Employment Requirement: Mandatory drug screening.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience with welding and fabricating components preferred.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work 7am-6pm Monday-Thursday, overtime outside of these hours may be required.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive knowledge.
  • Previous metal fabrication experience, preferably within automotive industry.
  • Prior experience in quality control and/or metal fabrication is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of inspection and/or production experience.

Physical Demands (to include but not limited to)

  • Frequent standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold temperatures for prolonged periods of time.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds occasionally.
